There's a stigma attached to fruit wine. People assume it's sweet, simple, and best suited for a pitcher of Sangria diluted with Sprite.
We're here to change that.
Every bottle of Maan Farms wine contains two pounds of Fraser Valley berries. No water added. That means what's in your glass isn't just a base for punch. It's a complex, structural ingredient that can transform a classic cocktail into something genuinely special. It's the same commitment to quality that earned us Best Fruit Wine of the Year at the All Canadian Wine Championships and top honours at the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
We call it Maan-ifying. Here's how it works.
The Idea
Instead of reaching for sweet vermouth, triple sec, or sugary liqueurs, you reach for one of our wines. The fruit does the heavy lifting by replacing the artificial sweetness, adding real depth, and giving your drink a flavour you actually recognize because it came from an actual berry grown in Abbotsford.
One rule before you start: cut your simple syrup. Our wines already carry natural residual sugar, so if you build a cocktail the standard way, it'll be too sweet. Reduce your syrup by half, or skip it entirely and let the wine do the talking.
It's your sweetener.
🌑 The Midnight Martini
A Maan Farms twist on the Espresso Martini
The Espresso Martini is everywhere right now, and for good reason. But most versions are built on Kahlúa, which is essentially sweetened coffee syrup. We swap it out for our Blackberry Table Wine, which shares deep, earthy flavour compounds with roasted coffee. The result is moodier, less cloying, and frankly more interesting.
What you need:
- 1.5 oz Vodka
- 1 oz fresh espresso (hot)
- 1 oz Maan Farms Blackberry Table Wine
- 0.25 oz simple syrup (optional, only if you like it sweet)
- Garnish: 3 coffee beans
How to make it: Shake all ingredients vigorously with ice. The hard shake is what creates that signature foam. Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with three coffee beans.
Why it works: The Blackberry wine's natural viscosity and earthy depth play beautifully off the espresso's roast notes. It feels more expensive than a standard Espresso Martini. Because it is.
🍓 The Valley Negroni
A Maan Farms twist on the Classic Negroni
The Negroni is one of the most perfectly structured cocktails ever made. It's equal parts spirit, bitter, and sweet. We keep the gin and the Campari exactly where they are and swap the sweet vermouth for our Strawberry Dessert Wine. The result tastes like a walk through a Fraser Valley strawberry field in July. Our Strawberry Dessert Wine was described by Savor Northwest as delivering "vibrant flavors of raspberry with bright notes hinting at spiced citrus."
What you need:
- 1 oz London Dry Gin
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz Maan Farms Strawberry Dessert Wine
- Garnish: orange slice
How to make it: Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice for about 20 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with an orange slice.
Why it works: The Strawberry Dessert Wine bridges the gap between the botanicals of the gin and the bitterness of the Campari. It softens the drink without losing the structure that makes a Negroni a Negroni.
🍇 The Maan-arita
A Maan Farms twist on the Classic Margarita
The Margarita lives and dies by its balance of sweet, sour, and spirit. Most recipes get there with triple sec: an orange liqueur that does the job but doesn't do much else. We swap it out for our Raspberry Table Wine, which brings the same acidity and bite but adds a ruby-red colour and a fresh berry complexity that orange liqueur simply can't match.
What you need:
- 1.5 oz Blanco Tequila
- 1 oz Maan Farms Raspberry Table Wine
- 0.75 oz fresh lime juice (reduced from the standard 1 oz, the wine is tart)
- 0.25 oz agave syrup (optional, to taste)
- Garnish: lime wheel, half-rim of salt
How to make it: Shake tequila, wine, lime juice, and agave with ice. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
Why it works: Our Raspberry wine has a pH of 3.5. It's bright, tart, and acidic in all the right ways. It does everything triple sec does, and then some.
